You can explore houses, granaries and gardens, or have a go at archery. The fields are home to wild plants as well as crops that were once grown for food or to make various items. You can also meet typical farm animals from the Middle Ages, such as the Skudden, a breed of sheep threatened with extinction. Their spring lambs are a delight not just for families with children! On a guided tour, you’ll learn how the original settlement was discovered, on the very spot where the museum village stands today. You’ll find out what the excavations have revealed about the everyday lives of the people who lived there back then, and how it all fits together: the finds in the ground, the plants in the fields and the huts behind the palisade.
