It focuses on the culture and history of Berlin, supplemented by selected literature on the Margraviate of Brandenburg. We acquire new titles in line with the main themes of our collection, as well as current exhibitions and projects.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t<\/div>\n<\/section>\n\n\n<section class=\"block block-copy block-no-margin\">\n\t<div class=\"container-fluid\">\n\t\t<div class=\"row\">\n\t\t\t<div class=\"col-xs-12 col-md-7 col-md-offset-5\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"copy\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<p>The collection comprises around 120,000 items. These include books, journals, publishers\u2019 publications, exhibition catalogues and so-called \u2018grey literature\u2019 \u2013 that is, publications not available through bookshops. The collection is supplemented by various special collections. These include, amongst others:<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t<\/div>\n<\/section>\n\n\n\n\n<section class=\"block block-copy\">\n\t<div class=\"container-fluid\">\n\t\t<div class=\"row\">\n\t\t\t<div class=\"col-xs-10 col-xs-offset-2 col-md-7 col-md-offset-5\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"copy\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\n<div>\n<ul>\n<li>almost all Berlin court calendars and address books<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Brandenburg local history and district calendars<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>the collection Variety &#8211; Circus &#8211; Cabaret<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>and much more.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t<\/div>\n<\/section>\n\n\n\n<section class=\"block block-copy\">\n\t<div class=\"container-fluid\">\n\t\t<div class=\"row\">\n\t\t\t<div class=\"col-xs-12 col-md-7\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"copy\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<p>We have catalogued the entire collection, both in terms of format and content. You can easily search for media, journals and other items online using the search form on this page. If you would like to use the library in person, please register in advance. As a reference library, it is also open to visitors from outside the university. Since then, it has supported the museum\u2019s work whilst also being open to the public.<\/strong><br><br>As a member of various specialist networks, the library works closely with other libraries and cultural institutions. These include the German Library Association (dbv), the Working Group of Art and Museum Libraries (AKMB), the OPL Working Group Berlin-Brandenburg and the Berlin-Brandenburg Cooperative Library Network (KOBV).
