Strata
Architecture Becomes Sound
A concert from our series “Soundscapes in Dialogue”
What is actually lost through destruction? Berlin’s Nikolaikirche tells the story of almost a thousand years of change. Walls collapsed, rooms were rebuilt, and different eras overlapped. Yet the past never completely vanished. Every era has left its mark.
With ‘Strata’, the Berlin-based Trickster Orchestra brings these traces to life through sound, using the church as a sheet of music. Historical and contemporary images of the church become a walk-through live score that encompasses the entire space and invites you to explore. The orchestra transforms architecture and light, moods and memories into sound. The result is an intense concert experience that bridges the Middle Ages, war-torn ruins and the soundscapes of a diverse present.
Three concerts for the price of two
In the concert series “Soundscapes in Dialogue”, which forms part of the programme accompanying the exhibition Chorus, you can choose three concerts and pay for just two tickets. The musical line-up ranges from rap to oratorio, from soundscapes to orchestral music, from experimental sounds to catchy tunes. Secure your free concert now!
Simply visit our ticket shop and add your chosen concerts to your basket. But please note: the offer applies to three different concerts, not to three tickets for the same concert. It ends when only two concerts remain. It pays to be quick!
