St Martin’s Day
With horse, rider and music
As dusk falls, young and old gather in the village square. Together, they listen to the story of Saint Martin and the beggar. Afterwards, the lantern procession winds its way through woods and meadows, past gardens and recreated medieval houses. As tradition dictates, Saint Martin rides at the head of the procession.
The fairy-tale witch Silberzweig accompanies the proceedings with stories in German. The band ‘Wolgemut’ provides the music, and everyone is invited to sing along.
